Welcome

Hi, welcome to grifball.info, home of the American Grifball League of America. Our current season, Winter League 2013, is in progress and it is our 18th season! You’ll find information about how to play, what you need, and how to signup right below this picture!

How do I Grifball?

You might be asking yourself “What is grifball?” Grifball is a 4v4 game that takes place on a rectangular court. On each end is the team’s plant point that they must defend. A single bomb spawns at the center of the court. Both teams fight to bring the bomb to the opponent’s plant point. The only weapons allowed are the Gravity Hammer and Energy Sword, both with infinite ammo. The player carrying the bomb has the advantage of increased speed and defenses. When the bomb touches a plant point, it registers for an immediate explosion and score. Upon scoring, the round ends and a new round begins. An AGLA game consists of nine rounds, where the first team to score 5 points wins.

What do I need?

So now if you’re wondering what you need to be able to play, that’s pretty simple – you need an xbox 360 console, an xbox live Gold subscription, the Halo 4 game, and the grifball gametypes and map (links found here).

What’s this about teams?

Grifball Team

Since it’s a team game, you can’t do this alone. Although the game is played 4 v 4, teams may have up to 8 players on them. If you already have a group of 4 buddies ready to go, just head over to the registration page while signups are open to get your team in the league. You will need to select which days/times you can play so we can match you up with other teams having similar availabilities when we schedule your games for the season. If you don’t have a team, or you need a few more players, you can head to this page to either contact players/teams about joining or post about your own search for teams/players. To utilize that page, you must first be a registered member of this site.

What’s next?

Once you’re all set and registered, you may swing by the forums to say “hi”, arrange some scrimmages/pickup-games, and add some fellow grifball players to your xbox live friends list. You can check out some more information about the rules of grifball here, find answers to some frequently asked questions here, and feel free to contact us with any questions. Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you on the court!
