AGLA SML12 Election Results
July 26, 2012 in AGLA by TrueFlyingCow
These are a bit overdue, but when the votes were tallied up we had two winners. With 47% of the votes, sonicchaos1993 won Head of Advertising. And with 75% of the vote, totally batty won Head of Rules once again. Some of these races were close, and other candidates had decent ideas. The winners are the Heads of ____, but are free to include the runners up in discussions and seek more ideas/opinions from other players to better achieve the goals of their positions. So, congratulations, and I’m looking forward to seeing what y’all can do as we manage the transition from reach into Halo 4.

Sonicchaos, what do you intend to do to increase the size of the league? i’m just curious because i think your role is very important seeing as this league really needs the recruitment.
@redbaron:
My primary focus as HoA is to prepare for the release of Halo 4 by building up connections with other gaming communities and forums and by expanding our presence on social media sites and on video sharing sites (Youtube/livestreams). This will create a base we can work off of to launch more effective advertising campaigns both in the near future (the release of Halo 4) and in the long-term. This base will help us maximize the amount of new players our advertising campaigns draw in in the short-term and as we build on this base over time, it will further improve the effectiveness of advertising campaigns in the long-term. We’ve never really had such a base to work off of before and that, I feel, has been a big part of why we’ve never had too much success in advertising the league.
To accomplish this, I’m first going to establish an Advertising Committee to help make connections and monitor existing connections/social media outlets (this step is already in progress). Once the committee has been established, we’ll look at which communities will give us the most exposure and develop a presence there. Regular content will be posted to social media outlets (the AGLA Twitter feed and the Facebook page if I can get access to it) to generate more activity there and improve the chances of people sharing the content we post. I’ll also do what I can to improve interest in the AGLA Youtube Channel and work with whoever has access to the AGLA’s twitch.tv account (I’m pretty sure it’s silva, but I’d have to double check to be sure) to start livestreaming some of the bigger matchups in the regular season and the playoffs.
